در موارد زیر باید از حرف بزرگ (Capital Letter) استفاده کرد:
1- اولین حرف هر جمله:
مثال:
This flower is pretty.
The box is heavy.
Do you know him?
It is expensive, but I'll take it.
2- ضمیر "I":
مثال:
My parents and I went to a restaurant last night.
When I was born, I had blue eyes.
3- اسامی افراد و حیوانات خانگی:
مثال:
David and Maria are friends.
Mr. Miller is our teacher.
John has a pet named Fluff.
4- محل های خاص و مشخص (شهر، کشور، ایالت، خیابان، پارک، مدرسه، ...):
مثال:
They live in New York City.
Peter is from England.
The post office is on Main Street.
I go to Farabi School.
5- روزهای هفته:
Saturday – Sunday – Monday – Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday – Friday
6- ماه های سال:
مثال:
My birthday is in the month of April.
The first month of the year is January.
7- نام روزهای تعطیل و ایام خاص:
I went to a party on Valentine's Day.
Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day.
Children play "trick or treat" on Halloween.

0.5 = Point five OR Zero point five
0.9 = Point nine OR Zero point nine
1.6 = One point six
12.93 = Twelve point nine three OR Twelve point ninety-three
59.367 = Fifty-nine point three six seven
اعداد کسری (fractions):
1/3 = One third OR a third
2/3 = Two-third
3/5 = Three-fifth
7/42 = Seven forty-second
1 (1/4) = 1.25 = One and a quarter
2 (1/2) = 2.5 = Two and a half
8 (3/4) = 8.75 = Eight and three quarters
